Aluminum
Lightweight, hypoallergenic, and tarnish-free—aluminum is a great everyday option, especially for sensitive skin. It won’t rust or turn your skin green, and it has a bright silver tone that stays shiny with minimal upkeep.
Care: Just wipe with a soft cloth to clean. Avoid wearing in pools or hot tubs, but otherwise, it's low-maintenance and durable.
Brass
Brass has a rich, golden tone that gives your piece a warm, vintage look. Over time, it naturally darkens and develops a patina (which many people love!).
Care: To restore shine, gently polish with a jewelry cloth or a little lemon juice and baking soda. Keep it dry and store in a pouch or box to slow tarnishing. It may temporarily discolor skin for some wearers—that’s normal and harmless.
Copper
Earthy and warm, copper has a beautiful reddish tone that deepens over time. Like brass, it oxidizes naturally and gets more character with age.
Care: Use a jewelry polish cloth or a bit of lemon juice if you want to brighten it up. Copper is reactive to moisture, so it’s best to avoid water and lotions while wearing. Slight green marks on skin can happen and wash off easily.
Stainless Steel
Tough, shiny, and low-maintenance—stainless steel is a great option for everyday wear. It’s hypoallergenic, waterproof, and won’t tarnish or rust, making it one of the most durable metals I offer.
Care: Just rinse with water and dry with a soft cloth if it gets dirty. It can handle showers, sweat, and daily life like a champ—but if you want to keep it extra shiny, avoid contact with harsh chemicals or abrasive surfaces.
Gold Plated Brass
Gold plated brass has a thin layer of gold electroplated over a brass base. It gives the appearance of gold at an affordable price, but it’s more delicate than gold-filled or vermeil.
Care: This one’s for occasional wear—not daily use. Keep it dry, avoid any moisture or friction, and store it separately. The plating can wear off over time, especially with frequent exposure to water or chemicals.
Vermeil (Gold Over Sterling Silver)
Vermeil (pronounced ver-may) is a thick layer of real gold over solid sterling silver—so it’s hypoallergenic and a step up from standard gold plating. It has the look of fine gold jewelry, but at a more approachable price point.
Care: Like all plated pieces, vermeil should be kept dry and stored away from other metals. Avoid water, lotions, perfumes, and friction to help the gold layer stay beautiful as long as possible. Gently wipe clean with a soft cloth after wearing.
Sterling Silver (.925)
Classic, shiny, and timeless—sterling silver is a favorite for good reason. It’s made of 92.5% pure silver and may darken or tarnish a bit over time, especially when exposed to air, water, or skin products.
Care: Give it a quick polish with a silver cleaning cloth to keep it bright. Store it in a dry, airtight place when not in use. With regular wear and care, it only gets better.
14k Gold Filled
This is not plated—it’s a thick layer of real 14k gold permanently bonded to a base metal, usually brass. Gold-filled jewelry is durable, high-quality, and made to last for years without the flaking or fading you get with plated pieces.
Care: Avoid water, sweat, and lotions to keep the shine. Wipe gently with a soft cloth after wearing. Store it in a pouch or box to keep it scratch-free.
14k Rose Gold Filled
Just like the yellow gold version, but with a soft pink hue that comes from a mix of gold and copper. It has the same thick layer of real 14k gold, so it’s just as long-lasting and luxe.
Care: Treat it the same way—avoid harsh chemicals and gently wipe clean. It’ll stay rosy and radiant with a little TLC.
